Culinary Tour – Paphos Region

We start the day with a visit to a family factory that has been making Turkish Delight for four generations, upholding a unique family recipe. From there we will go to a beautiful village with a family winery. We’ll enjoy a fascinating tour, learn about the process of wine production and get to taste four types of wine flavors with some refreshments. After that, we’ll continue to a local family home turned taverna and small museum of Cypriot culture, where we will enjoy the warm and authentic Cypriot hospitality. Inside the family home we will observe the process of halloumi cheese production and be treated to a traditional “workers” meal that includes halloumi cheese, home baked bread, fruits, vegetables, eggs, hot and cold drinks. You can also opt for a meat dish full of wonderful flavors straight out of the tabun oven. During the autumn and winter seasons, we’ll get to see the making of the national candy Sujuk and relish its delicacy. After we say goodbye to the friendly hosts, we’ll conclude the tour at the home of a family that makes syrup from the carob fruit, known as the “Black Gold of Cyprus.” We’ll observe the process, taste the syrup (which can be purchased there) and discover the foods that the family prepares from the carob syrup. Guests on this tour will travel by mini coach.
