Cyprus is well-known for its wine production. In fact, archaeological finds confirm that wine has
been produced on the island for over 6,000 years. Viticulture remains an integral part of the
Cypriot economy, with four major wine-producing areas under strict supervision to guarantee the
quality of the vines, their planting density, irrigation, and the aging process of the wines.
These regions are located in the Paphos district in the west of the island; the eastern Troodos
Mountains in the northwest, and south of the Troodos Mountains toward Limassol.
Those who sign up for the winery and wine tasting tour will visit several local villages and
wineries, meet the producers, tour the vineyards and taste the local Commandaria, a world-
famous dessert wine.
Our wine tasting tours are customized to suit each group and its accommodation, and include
quick stops at historical cultural sites and traditional villages. We will take in two to three
wineries and taste between three and five wines at each one, as well as the national liquor,
zivania. An optional lunch* in an authentic local taverna will enhance the entire experience.
